2D Drawings Converted to 3D Solid Models

At Delta Engineering, we can take your 2D drawings and sketches, and convert them to 3D models, as shown with the detail drawing and its associated solid model below. The solid model can be analyzed to determine mass properties, volumes, surface areas, weights, etc. The model below contains a coordinate system at the model's origin, and a symbol indicating the location of its center of gravity. A SolidWorks mass properties calculation derermined the following mass properties:
1. Center of Gravity:
X = -101.93 mm.
Y = 0.10 mm.
Z = -0.09 mm.
2. Mass = 8.27 kg.
3. Surface Area = 141446 mm^2.
4. Volume = 1046214 mm*3.

We also have experience with reverse engineering existing equipment, which consists of creating drawings of existing equipment, calculating mass properties, and incorporating customer requested improvements.

With solid modeling, the emphasis in CAD is shifted from data for visual communication to product data models that can be used for more sophisticated computer analyses and more automation.
